How Long Do Activations Take?

The length of time an activation takes to complete depends on the network operator that is conducting the activation.

In certain cases activation requests can take between twenty-four and forty-eight hours to be processed by the network operator.

For this reason, Connectivity Management recommend that activations are conducted ahead of time.

This section provides guidance on how far in advance to conduct activations for each operator.

Since the activation process is conducted by the network operator, the activation times stated below may differ.



Vodafone UK Activation Guidance

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 48 hours.

Notes: 

  • Connectivity Management Vodafone UK SIMs are not enabled for international roaming upon activation. Should you require SIMs to be enabled for international roaming, please enable this service via Connectivity Management at least 24 hours before the SIMs leave the UK.



Vodafone Global Activation Guidance

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours.

Notes:

  • During the activation period, the SIM may not be visible in Connectivity Management until the activation is complete.



O2 UK Activation Guidance 

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours. 

Notes:

  • During the activation period, the SIM may not be visible in Connectivity Management until the activation is complete.
  • Connectivity Management O2 SIMs are not enabled for international roaming upon activation. Should you require SIMs to be enabled for international roaming, please enable this service via Connectivity Management at least 24 hours before the SIMs leave the UK.



O2 Ireland Activation Guidance

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours.

Notes:

  • During the activation period, the SIM may not be visible in Connectivity Management until the activation is complete.



Arm Global Roaming Activation Guidance

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours.

Notes:

  • N/A



Tele2 Activation Guidance

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours. 

Notes: 

  • During the activation period, the SIM may not be visible in Connectivity Management until the activation is complete.



Three Activation Guidance

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours.

Notes:

  • Connectivity Management Three SIMs are not enabled for international roaming upon activation. Should you require SIMs to be enabled for international roaming, please enable this service via Connectivity Management at least 24 hours before the SIMs leave the UK.



Iridium Activation Guidance

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours.

Notes:

  • N/A



EE Activation Guidance

The activation guidance for EE SIMs differs slightly depending on the provisioning platform that is used by EE to provision the SIM.

To find out which provisioning platform applies to your SIMs, please contact the Support team.

Activation Guidance for EE CSS and Eclipse SIMs 

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours. 

Notes: 

  • During the activation period, the SIM may not be visible in Connectivity Management until the activation is complete.

  • Once the SIM has been activated, it will receive a confirmation SMS from the network. Please reboot the device upon receipt of the SMS. This must be carried out within 7 days of receipt of the SMS.

  • Connectivity Management EE SIMs are not enabled for international roaming upon activation. Should you require SIMs to be enabled for international roaming, please enable this service via Connectivity Management at least 24 hours before the SIMs leave the UK. 

Activation Guidance for EE Transcend and EE Connect SIMs 

Activation Time: 

  • Up to 24 hours. 

Notes: 

  • During the activation period, the SIM may not be visible in Connectivity Management until the activation is complete.

  • Connectivity Management EE SIMs are not enabled for international roaming upon activation. Should you require SIMs to be enabled for international roaming, please enable this service via Connectivity Management at least 24 hours before the SIMs leave the UK.
